Supported Internship Campaign Video

Connected Futures in East Midlands Combined County Authority is excited to launch a campaign video. It is aimed at raising awareness of a Supported Internship – a pathway to meaningful, sustainable employment for young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The video features eight amazing young adults, each filmed during their internship. They share what motivated them to take part, what a typical day is like, how it’s impacted their career goals and advice they’d give to someone wanting to start one.

Despite the growing number of Supported Internship opportunities, the research undertaken has evidenced a lack of awareness around this pathway. There is also a lack of accessible information for young people and their parents/carers. The video was commissioned, as part of the Connected Futures project, to help change that. We hope to encourage more young people to consider a Supported Internship as a step towards employment.
